Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund Policy is a legally binding document that establishes the relationship between you and the Scott County Democrats regarding contributions and ticket purchases. By making a donation or purchasing an event ticket through our website, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.

1. No Refunds on Donations

In accordance with Virginia and Federal election laws, all political contributions made to the Scott County Democrats are considered final.

  • Once a donation is processed, it is immediately recorded for campaign finance reporting purposes.

  • We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges for any monetary contributions, whether made as a one-time gift or a recurring donation.

2. Event Tickets and Registrations

Tickets purchased for Scott County Democratic Committee events, such as fundraisers, dinners, or rallies, are non-refundable.

  • Transferability: If you are unable to attend an event, you may be permitted to transfer your ticket to another individual, provided you notify us at Contact@scvadems.org at least 48 hours prior to the event.

  • Event Cancellation: In the rare case that the Scott County Democrats must cancel an event entirely, we will notify ticket holders via the email address provided during purchase regarding any potential rescheduling or alternative arrangements.

3. Compliance and Legal Protections

This policy is intended to comply with local consumer protection laws and to provide transparency regarding our financial operations. By maintaining a strict no-refund policy, we protect the committee from legal claims and ensure that our reported campaign funds remain accurate and compliant with the Virginia Department of Elections.

4. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Supporters are encouraged to contact us directly at (423) 817-0414 if a technical error occurred during the transaction (such as a duplicate charge). We will work with our third-party processors (e.g., ActBlue) to resolve legitimate technical errors. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in the permanent suspension of the user’s ability to donate via our platform.
